Make Tonsils Great Again…

I am very excited to announce the official journal of the Royal College of Surgeons of England has accepted our most recent scientific paper on the merits of tonsillectomy.

The team has worked exceptionally hard over the last 5 years to demonstrate that the restrictions to tonsil surgery may actually have resulted in more long term harm than benefit, and that this appears to have been financially detrimental to the health service as well.

The final manuscript was published in the March edition of the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England which you can access here.

Local Anaesthetic Sinus Surgery

Unfortunately, some people have such severe medical conditions that having a general anaesthetic is dangerous for the heart and lungs.

Whilst on fellowship in Birmingham, Mr Pankhania worked with Mr Shahzada Ahmed and Medtronic to deliver a dedicated local anaesthetic sinus surgery operating list once a month at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Miss Emma Watts presented our work at the National ENT Masterclass 2020. Click here to watch her presentation*
